The Pinlock® ProtecTINT™ lens automatically adjusts its tint in response to changes in light conditions. It darkens when exposed to bright sunlight and lightens when the light intensity decreases. The technology works accordingly.
Photochromic molecules: The lens is made of a special type of lens material that contains photochromic molecules. These molecules have the ability to undergo a chemical reaction when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light. As the photochromic molecules absorb the UV light, they begin to darken.
The Pinlock ProtecTINT lenses allow optimal vision in various lighting conditions without carrying and changing multiple visors.
Cloudy conditions > Clear
During cloudy weather the light intensity is low, the photochromic molecules lighten, allowing more light to pass through.
Sunny conditions > Light Smoke
