Reece Wilson Back On the Box - AON Racing

Reece Wilson delivered an incredible ride this weekend, finishing second at Round 5 of the UCI Downhill World Cup in Pal Arinsal, Andorra. It was his first World Cup podium with AON Racing, and one that felt well earned.

What a race.

Like a lot of people watching, we found ourselves getting more and more invested as Reece's run held up. Every rider that came down made us think, "He might actually pull this off."

Jordan Williams ended up putting together an incredible run to take the win, but Reece finished second on a bike and team that he built from the ground up. That's pretty special.

It's easy to look at the results sheet and see P2. But anyone who's followed Reece over the last couple of years knows this was about a lot more than that.

Starting your own team takes a lot. Designing and developing your own race bike while trying to compete at the highest level takes even more. To see all of that hard work come together with a World Cup podium after just a season and a half says a lot about the people behind the project.

Reece summed with us after the race:

"Starting my own team, designing and developing my own bike and putting it on a World Cup podium. That was the dream. This result encapsulated that story and journey perfectly. To achieve this goal after only one and a half years is quite possibly my biggest accomplishment to date. I'm so proud of myself and the team for believing in ourselves and trusting our abilities."

We're incredibly proud to have Reece representing 6D and couldn't be happier for everyone at AON Racing. This feels like a huge milestone, but it also feels like the beginning of something even bigger.
