MAX X Goggle Included

Every ATR-3X also includes the game-changing 6D MAX X Goggle, giving riders the coverage benefits of a shield with the dust control and fit of a traditional goggle. Together, the ATR-3X and MAX Goggle create a complete helmet-and-eyeport system designed to improve visibility, comfort, and convenience in changing conditions.

The MAX X goggle is built on the same core platform as the MAX R goggle with a few key differences for offroad and adventure riding. Featuring ventilation cam levers not found on the MAX R, the Max X allows riders to slightly open the goggle to allow airflow and instantly relieve fog. It is built for harsher environments where durability and consistent visibility matter most.

Closeable Chin And Brow Vents

When riding to the next trail things can get chilly. The ATR-3X features closeable chin and brow vents to keep you cool or warm depending on the terrain and speed you are riding.

Aerodynamic Visor

The visor on the ATR-3X has been modified for long distance high-speed rides along roads or dirt paths. It allows better air-flow to keep things secure and prevent any air pushing the helmet backwards.

Removable Chin And Neck Curtain

Another feature to keep things warm and comfortable in extreme conditions or high-speeds is our removable chin and neck curtain. This helps reduce air flow on roads as well as protects from moisture when the conditions turn sour. Simply remove for summer months when things get hot.

Fifth Generation ODS™

Introducing Generation Five of 6D's Omni-Directional Suspension™ Technology. Our most advanced system to date, designed for today’s extreme racing conditions. The enhanced system is more efficient, lighter, and freer to do its job, effectively mitigating energy transfer from crash impacts.

REBUILDABLE

Like its predecessor, the ATR-3 takes head protection to the next level with its groundbreaking concept of rebuildability. Unlike traditional helmets, which are typically discarded after a significant impact, the ATR-3 is designed to be rebuilt and reused, continuing the legacy of innovation started by the ATR-2.

RAM AIR DIRECT-TO-BROW COOLING

A new feature that enhances airflow and comfort. With newly designed direct channels and improved flow, this system efficiently directs cool air to the brow area and throughout the helmet, ensuring optimal ventilation and temperature regulation during use.

LABORATORY TESTED

ANGULAR ACCELERATION

A root cause to brain injury and concussion. Angular acceleration is generated from angled impacts to the helmet’s surface resulting in shearing, tearing and bruising of the soft tissues within the brain.

Broad Range Protection

Most helmet strikes in real-world scenarios are low-threshold energy impacts, which fall below certification pass/fail thresholds but can still cause concussion or more severe injuries. High velocity impacts, with the greatest potential for severe injury, require helmets to work at maximum capacity to ensure the highest level of protection. Therefore, it's crucial to have a helmet that provides comprehensive protection across all impact velocities.

ODS™ FIVE TECHNICAL FEATURES

MULTI-IMPACT OUTER EPP LINER

The multi-impact EPP outer liner is strategically positioned against the helmet shell's inner surface. It is an exceptional energy absorption material designed with "Damping Towers" to provide a progressive spring rate to the suspended inner EPS liner during impacts. This capability, along with the EPP's multi-impact feature, is key in allowing the ATR-3 to be rebuilt.

REPLACEABLE INNER EPS LINER

The inner EPS liner is a crucial component of the ODS™ design, acting as the primary layer of defense. It functions as a helmet within a helmet. This inner liner nestles into the ODS™ carrier, offering strength and integrity to the EPS while reducing angular acceleration forces with its slippery surface.

Air-Gap™ ventilation system with Ram Air Direct-to-Brow Cooling

3K Carbon Composite Shell

The new shell material enables a 3K Carbon Fiber outer layer while maintaining 6D's renowned durability. The 6D 'Optimized Shell Design' concept uses multiple materials to enhance protection and energy management. The shell must prevent penetration without being overly stiff, as excessive stiffness impairs energy management.

ODS 5 Isolation Dampers

Isolation Dampers connect the ODS™ carrier to the outer EPP liner, isolating impact forces from the brain. This new design features longer and more elastic dampers that require no gluing. Their unique shape provides progressive resistance to assist in managing the onset of angular acceleration, then subsequently returning the liner to its neutral position.

EPP CHINBAR

The EPP lined chinbar is thicker and has a lower density, offering increased durability and enhanced energy absorption for side impacts to the jaw area. It is equipped with a polyurethane over-molded sternum pad.

Additional Safety features

The new ATR-3 helmet incorporates several additional safety features. The chinbar has a clavicle cutout for more collarbone clearance, while the Cervical Protection Zone at the lower rear base provides extra crushable protection for the neck and spine in the event of downward and backward impacts. Additionally, shear-away visor screws enable the visor to break away during severe crashes.

ODS™ CARRIER

The new ODS™ carrier is lighter and simplified. It enables a modular helmet design that is easily rebuildable. It supports the isolation dampers, manages materials during impact, and recenters post-impact.
